The Cry Of Love was the first posthumous Jimi Hendrix album released after his death in 1970 and remains one of the most highly regarded releases in the Hendrix catalogue. Compiled from recordings intended for his unfinished fourth studio album, it contains some of Hendrix’s most mature songwriting and playing.
Featuring classics such as Freedom, Ezy Ryder, Angel and Night Bird Flying, the album showcases Hendrix moving beyond psychedelic rock into a richer blend of rock, soul, blues and funk influences. Many fans consider this collection the closest representation of the direction Hendrix was heading during the final year of his life.
The atmospheric cover artwork and superb song selection have made The Cry Of Love one of the most enduring and collectable Hendrix releases.
