Full Digital Matrix control of functions to all 5 zones
Up to 10 remote control panels RC 62 can be connected to each MS 520
An elegant slim-line device contains all the functions required by a system for distributing different musical programmes in homes for multi-room sound systems and commercial premises. Three different musical programmes and one for paging can be transmitted in five mono zones, or alternatively four zones, one of which is in stereo. It is also possible to extend the number of zones to ten using a simple connector to interlink two systems. The system has five amplified 20 W / 4 ohm outputs. For each of the five zones, a direct auxiliary input is available for connecting sources such as CD players or mixers to be used exclusively for one zone/room. The back-lit display and function keys make it possible to access all the menus for configuring and adjusting the system: Volume, Tone, Loudness, Output settings, VOX.
Features & Capabilities
Flexible Zones & Power: Includes an inbuilt 5-channel amplifier delivering 20 W RMS per channel into 4 Ω. You can configure the 5 zoned outputs as all mono, or 1 stereo and 3 mono zones. [1, 2]
Input Routing: Features 3 selectable music source inputs (RCA) and 1 dedicated priority/paging input (Euroblock with VOX/override) for jukeboxes or auto-announcers. [1, 2]
System Expansion: You can easily interlink two MS-520 units to expand the system up to 10 zones. [1]
Remote Control: Supports up to 10 RC 62 wall remotes (connected via standard CAT5 cable) per unit for local control of Volume, Tone, and Source. [1, 2, 3]
Pros
Highly Compact & Intuitive: The slim design and back-lit display make it easy to configure matrix routing directly from the front panel. [1]
Priority Override: Excellent for commercial use where paging or alarms need to automatically mute background music. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Zone Independence: Direct auxiliary inputs are available on every zone, allowing a local room to plug in an independent source (like a local CD player or mixer). [1]
Cons
Power Limitations: At 20 W per channel, it is intended strictly for background music or quiet paging. It is not suitable for high-SPL foreground audio or large spaces. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Impedance Constraints: The amplifier is designed for 4 Ω loads. If you are running an extensive distributed 100V line commercial speaker system, you will need to add external power amplifiers or matching transformers
