Our LP Ratings
We have tried in our ratings to be objective as possible by examining the vinyl using visual inspection under normal lighting conditions. We do not play test the records unless otherwise indicated.
Sealed - New Condition - Never Opened
NM (Near Mint) - Maybe played Once or Never - No Scratches
VG+ (Very Good+) - Has a few hairline scratches or a more prominent scratch
VG (Very Good) - Has many hairline scratches and/or a few prominent scratches. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.
VG- (Very Good Minus) - Has a significant scratch that affects playback on one or more tracks. Rest of LP is VG/VG+
G+ (Good +) - (Numerous scratches on record but music still listenable although some scratching noise while playing
G (Good) - Numerous Scratches - Scratching Noise During Play. May be interruptions on playback. Not play tested
F (Fair) - Numerous Scratches, Could be major/deep scratches.- Scratching Noise During Play. May be interruptions on playback. Not play tested.
VG Picture sleeves or LP covers & labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.
VG-/G+ - A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects will be present.
G/P/F- Poor/Fair - The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing. Cover is sometimes stuck with tape.The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully split, crinkled, and written upon or missing
