Hipsway – Hipsway
Released in 1986, the self-titled debut from Scottish band Hipsway blends sophisti-pop, new wave, and blue-eyed soul with polished mid-’80s production. Fronted by Grahame Skinner (formerly of Jazzateers), the band delivered a smooth yet rhythmic sound that sits comfortably alongside mid-’80s UK pop acts.
The standout hit “The Honeythief” became an international chart success and remains a recognizable 1980s pop single. The album combines slick grooves, layered keyboards, and tight rhythm arrangements, making it an appealing title for collectors of 1980s new wave and pop-rock.
