A mid-80s UK indie / new wave release from Troy Tate, produced during the post-punk transition era. Tate is perhaps best known in collector circles for his early work with The Smiths (he produced their first sessions), which gives this LP added historical interest beyond its commercial profile.
“Liberty” blends jangly guitar pop with atmospheric 80s production touches — very much in the vein of the UK alternative scene of the period. Not a major chart album, but increasingly appreciated by indie collectors and fans of the early Creation / Rough Trade sound.

A solid niche piece for 80s alternative collectors, especially given the Sire label connection and German pressing quality.
