Quarterflash’s self-titled debut album remains one of the stronger AOR and soft rock releases of the early 1980s. Led by vocalist and saxophonist Rindy Ross, the band achieved international success with the hit single Harden My Heart, a track that became one of the defining radio staples of the era. The album combines polished rock arrangements, memorable melodies, saxophone-driven hooks and strong songwriting, making it a favourite among collectors of classic American rock.
Released in 1981, the album reached multi-platinum status and produced several successful singles. While Harden My Heart is the standout track, deeper cuts such as Find Another Fool and Cruisin’ With The Deuce demonstrate the band’s ability to blend rock, pop and adult contemporary influences into a cohesive album.
For collectors of early 1980s AOR, female-fronted rock and classic FM radio favourites, this remains an essential title.
