Released in 1980, Rock Hard found Suzi Quatro continuing her transition from glam-rock icon to a more polished hard-rock and AOR-oriented sound. Produced by Mike Chapman, who had helped shape many of her biggest hits, the album combines driving rock anthems, melodic hooks and Quatro’s distinctive vocal style. The title track became one of her best-known later-period recordings and remains a favourite among fans of classic rock and female-fronted hard rock.

Although not as commercially successful as her mid-1970s releases, Rock Hard has developed a loyal following among collectors of Suzi Quatro’s catalogue. The album captures her powerful bass-driven style while incorporating the polished production values that characterised early-1980s rock.
