This Island was the breakthrough 1984 album from Australian new wave/pop-rock band Eurogliders. Following the success of the hit single Heaven (Must Be There), the album established the group internationally and remains one of the defining Australian pop releases of the mid-1980s. Led by vocalist Grace Knight, the band blended sophisticated pop melodies, synthesizers, atmospheric production and thoughtful songwriting into a sound that sat comfortably alongside contemporaries such as Icehouse, The Eurythmics and Tears for Fears.
