Released in 1979, Moondancer is one of the more interesting albums from Meco Monardo, the musician and producer best known for transforming popular themes into disco-era instrumental spectacles. Following the success of his Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk recordings, Meco continued exploring science-fiction-inspired disco with Moondancer, blending electronic sounds, orchestral arrangements and dance-floor rhythms.

The album captures the late-1970s fascination with space-age imagery and futuristic disco production. Rich synthesizers, sweeping orchestration and polished studio craftsmanship make this a distinctive period piece from the height of the disco era.
